Aveton Gifford
Village Shop

Committee

As Aveton Gifford Village Shop is a community owned shop, there is a committee to represent the shareholders and villagers. This committee forms an important part of running of the shop, as it provides one half of the shop partnership along with Tim and Marie. As far as day to day running is concerned, the committee mainly acts as an advisory and support unit. The shop premises are managed by the committee and as a result the committee provides ongoing financial support for the building, and for the fixtures and fittings.

Without which...

A big thank you must go to the founding committee, for without their foresight, endless funding applications, commitment and extensive hard work, there wouldn't be a shop to serve the community. They took an idea and made it a reality by securing a temporary location for the tin container, seeking a location, funding and planning permission for the new shop and overseeing the building works. The shop that stands today is a result of their work.
