Aveton Gifford Village Shop serves the village of Aveton Gifford, a small village located in the South Hams. It is a community owned shop and post office with many villagers and locals having purchased a share in the shop.

The new timber-framed shop premises have been purposely designed and built to locate the shop in the heart of the community. It is thanks to the hard work of the founding committee and the support from the villagers that Aveton Gifford have a shop to serve their community.

We stock a wide range of items, from your essential daily groceries to items from local artists. Specialising in stocking local produce, Aveton Gifford Village Shop is a typical Devon shop - placing emphasis on quality produce.

You'll find us in the Memorial Car Park at the northern end of the village - just opposite the school. For a map please see our contact us page. Please feel free to come in and have a browse - you could even enjoy a coffee while you're at it.

Local Suppliers

Whereever possible we try and source delicious local produce, keeping food miles low and supporting the local economy. We stock both organic vegetables from Riverford, and non-organic vegetables from a Cornwall supplier. Bread comes from nearby Modbury Bakehouse, and free range eggs are stocked from Cuckoo Farm. Dairy produce is supplied from Challons Combe Farm, and meat comes from Aune Valley Meat. We also stock ready meals from award winning Red Earth Deli.
